Alright, troops―you know the drill. It’s that time of year again when your best buds at Anthem rally together for our annual Coachella desert decimation. We’ve been knocking your socks off, blasting you with music provided to you by some of the finest internal DJ’s around, liquoring you up with bars equipped with bottomless wells, and hooking you up with all sorts of radical products our sponsoring partners in crime throw our way.

We’re switching properties once again, and while we can’t tell you where we’ll be shacking up for the weekend of April 17, we can give you two keywords you’ll keep hearing for the next two weeks: LA GOON. That’s right, people―we’re taking it up a notch with the incorporation of a Tarzan, King Of the Jungle-style lagoon as our centerpiece. The usual accommodations will be duly provided, too, of course, from a huge pool to a bar fit to serve kings and queens. For both those of you who know the debauchery we dish out and the folks out there who have only heard about our festivities and haven’t actually been alike, let’s look at some photos and videos from our past successes…

Drooling yet? We are.

No RSVP information yet. Stay tuned.

Duck Sauce N’est Pas Gastronomique

Posted on 17 July 2009 by shaunt

Duck Sauce reminds me of that tangy red hoisin sauce they give you at Chinese restaurants. I can’t exactly tell you where the inspiration for the name of the the new A-Trak and Armand Van Helden collaboration project came from, but i can tell you that their first release is quality.

The Fool’s Gold blog describes the sound of the track as crafted in the “spirit of their favorite disco house tunes, keeping the good vibes intact while adding that 2009 club knock.” Find the release on A-Trak’s own Fool’s Gold Label (link to Discogs).

Here it is.

Kavinsky – Blazer EP

Posted on 05 August 2008 by shaunt

If legend is to be believed, Kavinsky is the world’s best-known zombie DJ and musician. Others will tell you he’s the alias of Vincent Belorgey, protege of French beatmaster Mr. Oizo, friend and tourmate of Daft Punk and the Ed Banger crew. Whichever story you choose to believe, Kavinsky’s new EP for Fool’s Gold — his first domestic release — is a total no-brainer.

Updating vintage Moroder and Miami Vice sounds with a French touch, Blazer features three of the possibly undead producer’s finest cuts from his import releases — “Testarossa Autodrive(1),” “Dead Cruiser(2),” “Grand Canyon(3)” — and seals the deal with the exclusive unreleased gem “1986(4).” The whole thing is wrapped up in a spiffy Ferarri tire pic disc designed by (who else?) Dust La Rock, and is strictly limited to 1,000 copies.
