The Bloody Beetroots, signed under Dim Mak Records, have a new track coming out called T*A*P*E* which pays homage to analog recording and playback equipment. The track is quite different from their other uptempo italo-house material, and is instead rather mellow and beat-oriented.
Credit to LAFriendly for the scoop…
A favorite track of mine by the italian duo is their remix/rework of Metallica’s Seek and Destroy which they have re-titled Ill to Destroy.
In other news, you can catch them live at the upcoming LA Weekly LA Detour Festival October 4th.

Alex Rihda, AKA Boys Noize, recently remixed a track from Fool’s Gold DJ A-Trak. The track Say Whoa is hip-hop based and the remix has a nice distortion to it. Check it out below!

So here’s a track that Busy P has had out for a while. 49ers is a short track, but it’s got a nice build-up to it. I did a remix of the track to add that special something it was missing before. Enjoy.

One of the most anticipated releases is the new Soulwax remix of Kids by MGMT. Erol Alkan and 2ManyDjs (soulwax) have been using the track in sets as of late. The response to the track has been quite positive, and the remix has grown to be one of the most sought-after on the web. This is a live bootleg recording of the track…. nothing more than a teaser for the actual release on Nite Versions.
Update: (9/9) The proper copy can be found HERE.

Busy P, manager of Ed Banger Records, has recently released two tracks, which have been on his new EP, Pedrophilia. He has a new track called Pedrophilia, which consists of heavy beats and dark riffs. His most popular track, To Protect and Entertain, is a hip-hop/electronic song Busy P produced, with vocals by Murs. He also samples the “old” Pedrophilia instrumental track.
Combining those two songs, I made a little remix/mash-up, which I like to call “Pedrophobia”. So you have the dark riffs and heavy beats, along with the instrumental version of To Protect and Entertain. Enjoy!

When most think of Daft Punk’s original discography, only their three major studio albums come to mind. In 2006, they released Musique Vol. 1, which featured tracks never before released on their studio albums. Many of the tracks on this compilation capture the true essence of original Daft Punk tracks, and are quite representative of their musical tastes circa Homework album.

The tracks:
Originally released on the Chemical Bros’ Life is Sweet 12″ back in 1995, Daft Punk contributed their own remix of the title track to the record. This track has not been released on any Daft Punk official discography, and was omitted from the Musique Vol. 1 compilation.
British soul singer Gabrielle had her own track Forget About the World remixed by the parisian duo back in 1996. Interestingly enough, a sample of this remix was most recently used in the Alive 2007 live set (track 10) as a lead-up to Prime Time of your Life. Here is the original:
In the late 1990s, German house/techno DJ Ian Pooley and Daft Punk took turns remixing each-others’ tracks. In 1998, Rock the Discoteque EP featured a Daft Punk remix of the Ian Pooley’s track Chord Memory. The track begins with the WDPK-esque voice introduction to the track, funky basslines, and house beats.
