The beloved Institubes Records (2003-2011) has officially decided pulled the plug. It was a solid 8 years of bangers from artists like Jean Nippon, Para One, Surkin, Bobmo, Tacteel, and Midnight Juggernauts. What’s next? Well, Para One, Bobmo and Surkin have begun their plan starting a new empire to the electronic-house music scene, called Marble Music. No releases have been announced, but we expect a bunch of new stuff this year!
So musically this Marble shit isn’t just about a new specific subgenre or whatever, it’s more about meeting people and ideas, trying new stuff, maybe choosing more risky, extreme paths than before. This is about creating fresh ways to talk to bodies and emotions. Blending the rough and the tender, the repetitive and the crashing. – Marble Music
Happy New Year everyone! 2011 has a bunch of goodies in store for us as we check out some bangin’ releases by artists such as His Majesty Andre, Shadow Dancer, SebastiAn, and many more.
Take a trip back to 1998 in the Roulé/Crydamoure era, when French house ruled the nation. However in 2011, His Majesty Andre of Cheap Thrills Records brings you his new release “Battle of the Spurs EP“, which has the hi-hats, the basslines, and the funky rhythm you would expect from classic, house tracks from the 90s. The EP is scheduled to release on February 6, 2011. If you like this, buy Strip Steve‘s Delta Disco EP & Remixes.

What beats can get darker than BNR’s one-and-only Shadow Dancer? We of course remember some of his heavy bangers like “Soap” and “Cowbois”. In 2011, Shadow Dancer brings you “Murder Room EP”. The morbid artwork is pretty self explanatory as to how dark the tunes are . Check out the preview for the release below!

At last, the long awaited LP by SebastiAn is scheduled to release in 2011. No album cover or LP title has been announced yet, however one track has been confirmed so far. According to many, the track is rumored to be named “Crevasse”. For those of you who remember, Busy P has dropped this track at Coachella Music Festival for about 2 years already, and it’s about time we have the opportunity to listen to it in the car, or drop it yourself! Here’s a rip of the track for all you Cool Cats!
Below you’ll see some new tracks by artists such as Boys Noize, SebastiAn, and more.
Ed Banger‘s over-distorted artist SebastiAn just finished the soundtrack to Romain Gavras‘s film “Notre Jour Viendra”. Like SebastiAn’s style and tastes, the sountrack has a dark and suspenseful feel. Grand pianos, violins, cellos… (you get the picture). The track “Dies Irae” (originally a thirteenth century, Latin hymn, which translates to “Day of Wrath”) has that dark, suspenseful feel. It’s great.. Watch the trailer HERE.
Download Glitch’s super-distorted, heavy remix of “Dies Irae” here!
In the heart of Berlin comes the revival of acid haus and electroclash. And who might be behind this? None other than Boys Noize. Alex recently finished his new release on BNR “Yeah/1010 EP”. You’ll hear a lot of analog synths, and beats fresh off a Roland TR-909 sending you way back to 1991. If you like thr track 1010, I recommend you give a listen to Mike Mind’s “Acid Machine”
Sample “1010″ below. Like It? Buy the track September 10, 2010.

The good people over at Data Transmission recently had a chat with DJ Falcon. Falcon debuted his “My Name is DJ Falcon” on Roule Records–the independent frech house record label founded by Thomas Bangalter, one half of Daft Punk. In the mid 1990s, Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel De Homem Christoph, collectively known as Daft Punk, concentrated some efforts on starting their own record labels for independent releases. Guy-Man’s disco-centric Crydamoure Records, and Thomas’ Roule records produced a handful of releases before going dormant. It should be emphasized, though, that the word for the current status of the label is dormant rather than dead. Falcon assured Data Transmission that Roule records indeed is still around and the Roule crew may have a few surprises in store within the next couple years.
“Roulé is not officially over” [Falcon] revealed to us. “It’s not finished. Crydmoure, yeah, but Roulé is still on…there’s nothing really playing on it, but it’s not over. So maybe one day…because Thomas and Roulé was all about surprising people…so you never know what to expect from Thomas, which is good. But officially, Roulé is still on.
The last time we spoke to DJ Falcon while he was booked for a gig in Los Angeles, he mentioned that he was scheduld for some studio time in Paris for recording new material, and assured us that he’d been working on an album. There was no mention though as to whether it’d be released under the Roule heading. However, this new information revealed may suggest that this may indeed be a possibility. We have our fingers crossed…
Here’s a new entertaining short video clip by Mr. Oizo featuring Flat Beat and Pharrell Williams.
In the November 2009 issue of MixMag, Justice stated that they will be producing the soundtrack to Mr. Oizo’s latest film Rubber, before they begin working on their new album. On March 6, Mr. Oizo announced the recording of his upcoming album called 2010. We will have more information on the album later, so stay tuned.
